MY VERDICT: Kristen arrived on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre for the AFI FEST special screening of her new movie “Still Alice” wearing a bold micro mini by Chanel; the black and white organza short sleeve dress comes from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection. While I’m not surprised to see that Kristen selected the graphic number, considering it’s the stand out choice from the line for her, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t thrilled to see that she wore it — and wore it so well.
I like that the belt was eliminated, which I don’t normally prefer but the logo name plate would’ve been too flashy. I’m also totally obsessed with the embellished bordered sheer black panels at the top and bottom of the skirt. However, as much as I like the dress and Kristen’s asymmetric choppy pixie cut, I really dig the fact that she traded in her go-to point pump for patent stiletto Jimmy Choo “Deckle” mule sandals. It was different for her while also complimenting the dress beautifully.
Rebellious yet chic, Kristen finished off with shimmering icy shadow, a Willow Roe black diamond “Thinny” band ring on her right index finger, and two Melissa Kaye “Naomi” white and black diamond pave rings stacked on her left hand.
This might be one of her best red carpet mini moments to date.
